DSCM H S School observes National environment Consciousness Programme and Bonamohotsava

DSCM H S School, Kanchanbari, observes a two day National Environment Consciousness Programme in the school on the 5th and 6th day of August 2010.
On the first day, the school also celebrated this year’ Banamohotsava by planting saplings in and around the school. At the beginning the Asst. Headmaster and the invited guest planted a sapling inside the school compound.

Then the teachers and students planted few more trees which was followed by a procession which was to make aware of the people of the environmental issues.
The rally of the school went around Kanchanbari Bazar. The NSS Unit of the school masterminded distributing of leaflets making aware of the impending dangers that await us if nothing serious is thought by mankind in time. The leaflet which is printed in Bangla, the language understood by all of this locality, contained beautiful requests to the people. You can download the leaflet in jpg format from this link http://downloads.ziddu.com/downloadfile/11126268/Amitabha001.jpg.html

On the following day essay competition, drawing and painting competition on environmental themes were held. It was followed by a seminar in which Dr. Indrajit Ray, Asst. Professor of Ramkrishna Mahavidyalaya, kailashar, North Tripura was kind enough to grace the occasion as the Chief Resource Person to speak on the topics predefined. Dr. Ray spoke to the children around 45 minutes at a stretch but the patient listeners never lose thier patience to hear a lenghty speech. This because Dr. Ray is a genius in his subject and it may be added that he was a teacher of this school two years ago. His enchanting ways of explaining really bewitched each one of them who were present in the seminar. The NSS Unit of the school organised this seminar at Kanchanbari Multipurpose Hall which is co-owned by the local rowth centre and our school.

The Seminar was opened with the welcome speech of senior teacher Mr. Jagadish chandra Bhowmik who welcomed all on behalf of the school and of the School's NSS Unit in particular.

It is worth mentioning that the seminar was added much colour by the sppech made by Mr. Buddha Sankar Deb, another teacher teaching Physics to the science stream students of the school. Besides teaching Physics, mr. Deb has been teaching Environment Science to the senior students of the school.
Mr. Deb delivering his valuable speech.
There was a prize distribution before the chairman's speech. The amazing drawings and paintings drawn by the learners are really appreciative. They gave a tough time for the selectors to select the best three. It has been decided that the best painting drawn by the learners will be selected as this year's annual magazine's cover page and the best essays written by the learners will be published in our magazine.
As this is the first posting of DSCM H S School, the school expects comments from all that would help us improve in the days to come. More informations about the school, staff and the students will be added in the future postings.
Jai Hind.
