Teachers' Day 2011 celebrated

Unlike many other years, DSCM H S School, Kanchanbari, North Tripura, has celebrated the 50th Teachers’ Day today in a rather morbid fashion. Previous celebrations of the occasion were always been celebrated in an unparalleled manner in terms of publicity and celebrations.
One might have noticed that the word ‘morbid’ is used in the above paragraph. The said word is suitable for the workers of a school who lose their co- workers in an un-expected manner. I am here to mean that Mr. Sona Chanda Sinha, a TGT of the Institution and who was also the Convener of the school’s Discipline Committee has passed away on the 1st September 2011. Because of this, the celebration of Teachers’ Day in the school could not be said to be celebrated or enjoyed as it should always be.

Teachers' Day 2011

This year’s celebration of the Teachers’ Day is opened with lighting of candles and garlanding of the portrait of Dr. S.RadhaKrishnan. The Head of the Institution was invited to do so and the image of the expired Teacher (Late Sona Chand Sinha) was also equally garlanded by Mr. J C Bhowmik, one of the Senior Teachers of the school.

The opening song has been sung by the learners of higher classes.

As the opening song was over, Mr. J C Bhowmik, one of the senior teachers of the school has been invited to place his speech. Mr. Bhowmik spoke the audience for quite a long time. He emphasized on the importance of the day and why the day is celebrated as Teachers’ Day. In his speech Mr. Bhowmik also paid homage to his departed friend. As he was speaking of his friend, Mr. Bhowmik was overcome with excessive emotions and he had to put an extra effort to tide them over.

In his speech, Mr  Chakma spoke about the erosion of moral and human values among modern learners of the school. He clarified to the speech given by Master Aniruddha Sil, a student of Class XII science where in the latter pointed out the duty performed by teachers of today.

Carefully listening to the speeches made by the Head of the Institution
Mr. Chakma clearly mentioned that the teachers of this school are always ready for giving something to the learners. He also opined that if the learners are ready to learn something – the teachers of his school are always willing to impart and ready to sacrifice him or herself, otherwise why the teachers would use chalk and duster braving the dusts off the chalks in a classroom. He plainly informed his learners that two hands are required two produce a clap and when a clap is heard from a distance then no success would be inclined to drift apart from the source of the clap.
The celebration came to an end with distribution of sweets among the students and the tea for the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school
